Caesars Windsor Legends Sports Bar reopens

Legends Sports Bar and Restaurant is coming back to the Caesars Windsor casino. The dining spot finally reopened its doors on Sept.16 after a seven-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are pleased to announce a further reopening of additional world-class facilities on our property,” said Kevin Laforet, President of Caesars Windsor.

Regulations placed on Legends’ reopening

While Legends is open to business again, there will be some restrictions.

Masks and proof of double vaccination (two doses plus a 14-day grace period) are mandatory. The Province of Ontario’s vaccination program kicked in on Sept.22 and will monitor casinos closely.

Working hours will also now be limited to Thursday – Monday between 4 pm – 12 am. And capacity will be capped at 50% capacity.

Nonetheless, it is a step in the right direction to remind patrons what Legends offers.

“Legends Sports Bar and Restaurant offers a unique experience for our guests with action on the big screen and great food from our newly renovated kitchen,” said Laforet.

Caesars Windsor prepping for competitive Ontario market

Legends reopening comes at an opportune time for Caesars Windsor and its operator, Caesars Entertainment.

Ontario’s competitive iGaming will launch soon, which has prompted a flurry of interest from foreign-owned operators. PointsBet, DraftKings and FanDuel are amongst those interested.

Caesars Sportsbook doesn’t want to be left behind.

“As online sports betting gains in popularity across the United States, Caesars Entertainment has launched its own Sportsbook App for US guests, including Michigan residents,” said Susanne Tomkins, manager of public relations and communications.

“We expect that iGaming will be ‘live’ in Ontario in late 2021 or early 2022 and look forward to the expansion of Caesars Sportsbook app into Ontario, allowing our customers more ways to earn rewards.”

Other restaurants open, to follow

Nero’s Steakhouse – another on-site dining option at Caesars – reopened in August.

Meanwhile, the European-inspired restaurant, Spago Trattoria, is set to restart its operations later this month. Further details are to follow, says Caesars Entertainment.

In total, there are seven different dining options at the casino. Caesars is one of four casinos in the Detroit-Windsor area. And, the location attracts an estimated six million visitors per year.
